Study Description:

Individuals who live with obesity are at increased risk for certain types of cancer and may tend to participate in fewer cancer screening activities than other people. This is an observational study to better understand whether cancer screening practices change after bariatric surgery.

What's involved?

The patient partner can expect to attend 8 meetings over the course of the next year, with occasional preparatory work prior to a meeting, in order to advise the BASICS study on how to study goals and help interpret study findings in the light of patient's lived experience and advise the study on how it shares its findings.

Is this study a good fit for you?

We are seeking one adult who has lived with severe obesity or a caregiver of someone who has lived with severe obesity. He or she should have undergone or considered bariatric surgery and/or have experienced cancer.
